The Fall
That caliginous night
when the snow fairies retreated
retreated down south
A bond forged by happenstances
came crumbling down
to bits and pieces
scattered near the edge
of a waterfall
Rocks laced with ice
you stood near the edge
I ran over to you
as you moved towards it
The rocks slippery
like how you slipped away
as I tried to hold you
to keep you safe
but you took for me
as a dispiteous devil in disguise
You ripped my hands apart
for trying to keep you aboard
from the flowing current
dragging you into the abyss
In that moment
your eyes resembled the icy rocks
clouded by your afterthoughts
Helplessly, I watched you go
my blood now mixing with the current
that took you down
As you gashed my hands
the thread tying our fates together frayed
with those words you screamed at me
wishing i should be the satan
so that you could name all your dark thoughts
with my name
You gladly embraced the ice cold sea
and let the murk around you
paint you into its underling
as you submerged into the trenches
beneath the sea
after the fall
